Press Release
Close to 23,000 visitors from 39 countries and over 500 exhibitors from around the world! Friday saw the conclusion of TRAKO 2021, the 14th International Railway Fair in Gdańsk, Poland.
The final day of the exhibition at AMBEREXPO belonged to employers and their prospective employees. Education & Career Day was held for the third time and is becoming more and more popular with each edition. This year, it had 1,300 registered attendees, mainly high school and university students. They had an opportunity to hold face-to-face discussions and obtain information from TRAKO participating companies. Over the entire day, there were lectures and workshops dedicated to individuals looking for a job in the industry.
Ca. 700 attendees decided to see TRAKO’s outdoor exhibition. The new exhibition tracks at AMBEREXPO provided an opportunity to admire rolling stock, including the new launches of TRAKO 2021. The youngest visitors enjoyed a great experience of seeing the results of the art competition and auction of artworks under the TRAKO for KIDS Charity Fundraiser. The TRAKO for Kids Fundraiser enjoys the auspices of Minister of Education and Science
“TRAKO was this year’s biggest transport industry event in Europe, and this showed in Gdańsk. The number of exhibitors and visitors at TRAKO was very impressive. Such great interest in the event certainly follows from the current trends: a fashion for railways as the best because safest, most eco-friendly and crisis-resistant means of transport. Today, one more word is associated with railways: growth. Throughout TRAKO, it was heard at the multiple rolling stock launches, debates and conferences,” said Krzysztof Mamiński, CEO of PKP SA and Chairman of the International Union of Railways (UIC).
“We can see one another after almost two years of not being able to meet in person. What happened at TRAKO exceeded our wildest expectations. We had plenty of visitors, all of them eager for direct contact. I cannot imagine there not being any trade shows, with business done online only,” emphasised Paweł Choduń, CFO of Medcom.
“To the organisers, it is the impressions of the exhibitors and visitors, the event’s business effect, as well as the attendance that matter most. The numbers of the now concluded TRAKO are a positive surprise to everyone,” says Andrzej Bojanowski, CEO of the MTG SA Gdańsk International Fair Co. “This year’s TRAKO enjoyed even greater interest among the industry than its previous edition, before the pandemic. This is a clear signal of how important the events organised by MTG SA are for the region and for the city of Gdańsk. The trust placed in us by our exhibitors, as well as by our partners and sponsors, is extremely important. For the first time in TRAKO’s history, Bank Pekao SA became our financial partner.”
TRAKO was widely reported on in both domestic and international media. There were 130 journalists from Poland, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Romania accredited at the event.
