14:00–16:00Debate: Technologies of the Future for Railways
TRAKO Programme Council, AMBEREXPO, Level I, Conference Room 1C, pre-registration required for free admission
Innovation is the basis for our growth, and this applies to all areas of human activity. Technologies of the future depend on how innovative we are today. Over many decades, the rail transport industry has seen a continuous development in its technologies which, in their initial phase, are often perceived as innovative. The growing competition between various transport-related industries makes it even more necessary to look for new ideas or apply technologies that are already successfully used in other industries. New materials technologies, digitisation, high-speed rail, new propulsion types, maglev, autonomic technologies and transport automation are just some of the areas where innovators are active in the rail transport industry. The panel dedicated to innovations aims to discuss how to support and develop innovative technologies in the transport industry. How to support new ideas, how to help the creators of new concepts while being aware that not all ideas, even very valuable ones, can be immediately implemented for many reasons. The discussion will be attended by representatives of businesses and institutions which develop, support and implement innovations in rail transport.Contact person: Karolina Hendler-Michalak SIRTS, k.hendler@sirts.pl
